NCRI 2026 Session: The Democratic Blueprint to Overthrow the Iranian Regime and Secure Freedom

The National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) held its two-day session on June 26 and 27, 2026, with the participation of Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the NCRI President-elect for the transitional period. Representatives of global Iranian communities attended the first day as observers.

🔹 45 Years of Resilience Against Dictatorship

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi congratulated the Council on its 45th anniversary and reviewed Iran’s modern history:

"The 57-year dictatorship of Reza Shah and his son continued through three coups, foreign intervention, suppression of freedoms, and injustice, until it was overthrown by the revolution. Khomeini and Khamenei, too, seized power by hijacking the leadership of the 1979 revolution, monopolizing power, and resorting to repression. But despite 48 years of executions, massacres, and warmongering, this medieval regime is today crumbling in confrontation with the people and the Iranian Resistance, and under the weight of its major defeats."

🔹 The Provisional Government: A Blueprint for a Peaceful Transition

Mrs. Rajavi emphasized that the declaration of a Provisional Government, backed by 45 years of experience and the slogan of "Peace and Freedom," demonstrates that the people of Iran have attained the capacity to transfer power democratically and peacefully to their true elected representatives after the regime’s overthrow.

🔹 The Regime's Fatal Deadlock

Mrs. Rajavi noted that the NCRI welcomes the cessation of war and any peace accord, stressing that any international agreement must include the halt of executions of political prisoners and the killing of protesters. She added that the ruling theocracy is closer than ever to being overthrown, trapped in a deadlock between its domestic crises and the dilemma of swallowing the "poison chalice" of a ceasefire versus continuing a deadly foreign war. Furthermore, the consequences of Khamenei’s death are becoming more evident, intensifying internal power struggles while poverty and inflation make social discontent explosive.

🔹 Rejecting Appeasement and Fake Alternatives

Council members noted that the Free Iran World Summit proved how the NCRI has stood firm against every conspiracy over 45 years. They stressed that neither war nor appeasement can contain the regime's fundamentalist policies, and that freedom must be won by the people of Iran and the rebellious forces, not through foreign intervention.

Furthermore, members exposed the campaign surrounding the Shah’s son as a security project that serves the regime and obstructs the uprising, noting that this fascist clique has revealed its sinister intentions by bringing criminal gangs onto the scene under the emblem of SAVAK.

🔹 Heading Toward the Decisive Battle

The session concluded with a review of the catastrophic living conditions of workers, retirees, teachers, and nurses. The Council stated that while the regime intensifies repression and executions to create fear, it cannot escape the explosion of the people’s anger. The time for the most decisive battle between the people and the organized Resistance against the shattered velayat-e faqih regime is drawing ever closer.
